Founded in 1998 by Jean-Michel Garetti, an oboist and professor at the University of Aveiro, the company now works with two specialists: Tiago Coimbra, responsible for the manufacture of professional reeds, and Júlio Conceição, producer of reeds for students. Our focus is exclusive: oboes and related instruments.

Jean Michel Garetti
Founder & CEO
Jean Michel Garetti is a professor of oboe and chamber music at the University of Aveiro. From 1989 to 2015 he held the position of English horn player with the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Saint Étienne (France), the Metropolitan Orchestra of Lisbon, and the National Orchestra of Porto (Portugal). He studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (CNSM) in Paris with David Walter, Jacques Tys, and Maurice Bourgue, where he earned his master’s degree in oboe and chamber music. He holds a Ph.D. in Performance from the University of Aveiro. He is the director of the website www.oboesales.com, which he created in 1997 to provide a specialized service dedicated entirely to oboists.
Tiago Coimbra
Head of Professional Reeds and Machines
Tiago Coimbra is an oboe professor at the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas de Castelo Branco (Portugal) and a soloist with the Göttinger Symphonie Orchester (Germany), as well as with the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras. He studied under Thomas Indermühle in Zurich and Emanuel Abbühl in Basel.
He holds a Ph.D. in Music from the University of Aveiro. Since 2020, he has been collaborating with www.oboesales.com, specializing in reeds and scraping machines (“Reeds and Stuff”), as well as in the manufacture of reeds for oboe and English horn.
